Alma 7:10-12

And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God.

And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities.

"R" For Reverence

Christus, by Bertel Thorvaldsen Replicas found in Temple Visitor Centers

Song: I Love to See the Temple (CS pg. 95)

Activity: I SPY Temple game. Get out 4 or 5 different temple pictures. Take turns saying phrases like "I spy a temple with Jesus and the 12 apostle carved on the front". What temple is that? The Oakland, CA temple!! or "I spy a temple with 6 very tall spires." What temple is that? The Las Vegas, NV temple!!

Question: What is it like at the temple?
What are some feelings you would have if people were NOT being reverent at the temple?

Scripture: John 2:13-16 "And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise."

Activity: I SPY Reverence game. Everyone shows how to be reverent and take turn saying things you spy. For example, "I spy Maria folding her arms." or "I spy Christina being a really good listener." or "I spy daddy kneeling for prayer."
